Hey Appliance Fans,
Oh boy is this going to be a fun blog to write. Believe it or not, I’m working on two other articles (a laundry one and another celebrity kitchens piece) but the good `ol appliance business decided to throw me a curve ball and make a fool of me so I had to quickly whip up this entry. If you’ve read previous posts, you know that I don’t mind making a fool of myself, but when someone (or something) decides to make a fool of me, then we have a SERIOUS problem. Get ready because The Kieffer’s Guy is going to eat some crow.
Surprisingly crow tastes like rebate savings.
The other week I wrote:
What’s your style? Sub-Zero & Wolf? Viking? Thermador? Dacor? GE Monogram? It doesn’t matter as they all have some savings to be had and they are all running out very soon. All of these companies have been offering some sort of savings for quite some time and I usually hear rumors about the programs being extended. This time, though, I’m not hearing those rumors at all. Maybe I’m wrong and these programs will continue or be revised and extended, but I haven’t heard anything to make me think otherwise.
This week I’m about to write:
I’m a horrible person. I wasn’t hearing any rumors about rebates being extended and then Viking and Sub-Zero & Wolf decided to extend their rebate programs. Obviously I’m not as buddy buddy with them as I thought. Viking’s program has been extended until 12/31/12 and Sub-Zero & Wolf’s program has been extended until 3/31/13.
I can’t imagine Thermador won’t do something when their rebate expires on December 31st, but don’t hold me to this because there’s no way I can take another plate of roasted crow.
One thing I can tell you is that Sub-Zero & Wolf is having a price increase on November 1st, so if you’re on the fence, you might want to pull the trigger with your order to save a few bucks. Will other brands follow Sub-Zero and Wolf’s lead by increasing prices? Though I don’t know for certain, I imagine that they will and I’ll be sure to keep you informed every step of the way.
