Hey Appliance Fans,
BOOM! Welcome to 2014. When I was partying with Keith Richards back in the 60’s*, we both laughed at the thought of us making it to 2014. Well, Keith and I are still here and I’m happy to say that 2014 is looking to be a fantastic year for kitchen appliances. Without further ado, let’s look at some of the news for 2014.
*I don’t know Keith Richards and I wasn’t alive in the 60’s.
Kieffer’s Appliances Showroom
In 2012 and 2013 our showroom went through more changes than the number of times Lindsay Lohan checked herself into rehab, but there’s nothing wrong with change! A few months ago, I was touting our awesome new virtual tour that our buddies at Google (every heard of them?) did for us. If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here. Well about three months after Google did their magic, we revamped our Miele display. Check it out:
Our Miele Display is so big I couldn’t fit it in one shot.
So what’s in store for our showroom in 2014? Well, well, well, we’re completely gutting our Thermador, Gaggenau, U-line, Bosch, GE Monogram, and Dacor displays and redoing ALL OF THEM. Everything should be wrapped up by early spring and I’ll be sure to share all of the images with you. I’m super excited.
Sub-Zero and Wolf’s New Product Line
Starting in the fourth quarter of 2013, Sub-Zero and Wolf began rolling out new refrigeration columns, downdrafts, microwave drawers, and new refrigerator drawers. 2014 is going to be even bigger with the addition of new wall ovens (including 27-inch wide ovens), new cooktops, a COFFEE SYSTEM, new hoods, and microwaves. I know it’s difficult to imagine how Sub-Zero and Wolf could get better. Think of it like trading in your old Mustang for a new 2015 model. For more information on the revamped product line, check out Sub-Zero and Wolf’s New Generation Website.

Rebates
I don’t like to save money, but I’m sure you do. With that in mind, many manufacturers have extended or altered their rebate programs for 2014. Thermador’s 1,2, FREE program now includes a free dishwasher when purchasing a single wall oven with cooktop or rangetop. The previous promotion required the purchase of a double oven. Dacor has also revamped their program to include free product or money back depending on how much Dacor product is purchased. Watch out as each program offered by the manufacturers has their own start and end dates. For more details on each program, check out the snazzy little rebate page I created.
Viking Range
Some of you may or may not know that Viking was sold in late 2012 to the mega-appliance company Middleby Corporation. To celebrate, Viking is rolling out new products. Not quite as drastic as Sub-Zero and Wolf’s new generation, Viking will feature new ovens, built-in refrigeration, and brand new ranges known as the 7 Series. Something that’s not changing from Viking is their 3 year signature warranty on the entire Viking indoor appliance line. See what else Viking has coming up for 2014 by clicking here.
Viking’s 7 Series Range is going to be BIG.
These are just some of changes happening in 2014 and you can be sure that The Kieffer’s Guy (I love writing in the third person) will keep you updated on all of the latest, hottest appliance news as we move into the future. Until next time, America!
